Grouping on Basis of Texture

Texture : When we touch different materials, we find that some are rough ad some are smooth. Rough materials have bumps or ridges o their surface, which can be felt by touching them, for example rocks, snadpaper and bark of a tree. Smooth materials  have no bumps or ridges and have a plain surface for example glass sheet and flower petals etc.

Soft materials can be scratched or compressed easily. Hard materials are difficult to compress. In this way materials can be classified on the basis of there texture.
